Second-graders in Libby Schlagbaum’s class at Annehurst Elementary got a preview of their next language arts lesson during a visit from artist-in-residence Janine Crum on Tuesday.
Third-grade students from 11 Westerville City Schools elementaries are celebrating world languages and cultures through song in special community concerts at 7 p.m. Nov. 19, Nov. 20 and Nov. 21 at Westerville Central High School.
National School Psychology Week, which runs from Nov. 11 to Nov. 15, celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the role they play in schools and communities. It is also an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists' work to help children thrive in school, at home and in life.
School communities at Annehurst and Fouse elementaries have come together this week to provide disaster relief to those impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Starting Monday, schools throughout the district are rolling out various activities and events to build community and foster a sense of belonging in honor of Start with Hello Week.
Created by the Sandy Hook Promise organization, Start with Hello Week runs Sept. 16-20 and is focused on helping students build empathy, healthy relationships and social awareness through social-emotional lessons and activities.
The newest members at several Westerville City Schools elementaries have spent the past week starting to build relationships in their school communities.
